Kundalini Program Update 2020-08-12T04:56:37+00:00

Dear Agama students,

In 2018 the Kundalini Program was upgraded to the new Agama curriculum and the format of the new Kundalini Program is now quite different. The Kundalini Program is going to be run separately consisting of four modules and will be concluded with an Advanced Kundalini Retreat. The retreat can be done at any point after completing Module 4, in the same year or later on. Note that only after completing the retreat will a student be considered having graduated the Kundalini Program.

In the new Agama curriculum and as of 2018 the Kundalini Program follows after the Green Sash Exam of Level 23 (the former attempt to make it available more early turned out to invite too many not readily prepared students and thus not give the desired results).

Also starting in 2018 we introduced the new Yoga Practitioner Program which means that Levels 14-23 will still be offered. This is a continuation of the Agama Hatha Yoga Program, providing students the possibility to continue their studies and to go much deeper into their Hatha Yoga practice, further purification and even the amazing Svara Yoga.

The structure of each Kundalini module differs from the Hatha Yoga levels and other Agama courses. Each module consists of four weeks (one-course cycle), with three classes per week (12 classes in total). One class is five hours long, running from 07:00 – 12:00. The three classes will be scheduled consecutively, thus creating a sort of “mini-retreat” each week. The exact days of the module in each cycle will be decided when the school’s overall schedule is prepared and announced; normally this is finalized latest three weeks in advance.

The conclusion of the Kundalini Program is a 10-day Advanced Kundalini Retreat. This will be a strong experience of going deeper into all the techniques and practices that have been taught in the four modules. Only after having participated in the retreat a student will have graduated the program. The retreat can be taken the same year as completing Module 4, or any other year after that.

Note: In 2020, the Kundalini Program is not scheduled, however there is a chance for it to happen in 2021 and/or 2022. Please follow our calendar and online channels.

ADMISSION AND APPLICATION

In the new Agama curriculum, entrance into the Kundalini Program is possible only after successfully completing the Green Sash, which can be taken after Level 23. In addition to having successfully passed the Green Sash, admission to the Kundalini Program is also subject to approval by the head of the school in conjunction with the Kundalini Program teacher, and the passing of a practical entry exam.

Application Form

If approved, you must join the mandatory practical exam held a few weeks before the Kundalini Program – Module 1. The exact date and details of the exam will be announced to those who are approved in the first selection process; latest one month before the Kundalini Program starts.

Final admission into the Kundalini Program will be decided and announced shortly after the practical entrance exam.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OLD KUNDALINI STUDENTS

Since the old curriculum of 10 Kundalini levels has been comprised of four modules, and a lot of new exciting material in the form of lectures, techniques, and course papers have been added, it is highly recommended for all students to complete all four modules. Old students are allowed to attend the lower modules corresponding to the levels they have already completed with a special discount.

Students who have done Kundalini levels in the old curriculum and wish to enroll in the new Kundalini Program, have to send an email to teaching@archive.agamayoga.com. In this email, they should state which module they wish to attend (do they want to start in Module 1 or enter in the highest module permitted), full name, the last completed Kundalini level and the month/year of completing that level should also be included in this email.

> Those students who have fully completed Level 23 or 24 in the old curriculum can graduate in the Kundalini Program by doing Module 4 plus the retreat, and the Green Sash can be taken as soon as these two have been completed. No other Kundalini modules or Yoga Levels need to be attended.

All students who have completed the old Kundalini Program, who graduated in Level 24 of the old curriculum and have successfully done the Green Sash, may join the Advanced Kundalini Retreat. Please contact teaching@archive.agamayoga.com to register for the retreat.

 With love,

Enjoy a fresh mango and coconut for breakfast, take a Yoga class, relax on a hammock with an ocean view, and save a massage for the afternoon. These are just a few ways to spend a perfect day on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan in Thailand, where Agama is located. Nature is constantly blessing Koh Phangan with blue skies, breathtaking sunsets and short, refreshing rain showers to cool down the tropical weather.

Agama is the pioneer of Yoga on the tropical island paradise of Koh Phangan, Thailand. The school was founded on the island in 2003 by Swami Vivekananda Saraswati, a Yogi for over 30 years who has dedicated his life to teaching an authentic form of Hatha Yoga in a modern scientific approach.

Agama believes that there should be a bridge between spirituality and rational thinking, and classes are taught accordingly. The teachings are easy to implement in daily life and are often adopted immediately by students.
